The Hotel

‘Philoxenia’, the Greek equivalent word for hospitality (friend of the stranger literally in the Greek language), is part of our Cretan genes, and Steris Elegant Beach Hotel has a long history of hospitality, of two generations.

Our hotel was and remains a family business since its founding in 1978 by Mrs Evangelia, the matriarch of the family, and her husband, Mr. Evangelos.

Athanasia continued the legacy with passion, vision, and perseverance by rebuilding the hotel in 1999 and then renovating it in 2010. Ever since, she has never ceased to innovate, renovate, and reinvent the business, according to current hotelier trends, but more importantly, according to the guests’ needs and expectations.
